Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born 26 March 1991 is also known by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On the 21st October of 2016 she debuted Pho the debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The release date was May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading songs to the internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet including her independently launched single Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes featuring the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the period, she released music that circulated all over Dreamville. Her contract was signed officially to Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21 on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video was later released in September. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. She then released on November 13 two new singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single the 26th of February in 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The track was supported by the release of a music video on February 20, 2019, which reached 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
